World’s Largest Bike Manufacturer Relocating Headquarters To Boulder

The world’s largest bike manufacturer, Giant Group USA, is moving its headquarters from California to Boulder next year.

Giant Group USA, the domestic arm of Taiwan-based Giant Group Manufacturing Inc., is relocating its main offices from Newbury Park, California, according to the Denver Business Journal. 

The company told the DBJ it is in the final stages of securing space in Boulder’s downtown and aims to have employees at the new headquarters in summer or fall 2026. Giant Group expects to bring 125 jobs to the area.

The company said it chose Boulder because of the city’s reputation as a cycling and outdoor recreation community.

Giant Group sells bikes under the brands Giant, Liv, Momentum, Cadex and Stages, and it manufactures bike frames for other brands. The company has nine factories worldwide, including one in each Taiwan, Vietnam, the Netherlands and Hungary, plus five in China.

Through the third quarter, Giant Group has reported nearly $1.5B in profit, an almost 17% drop from last year. 

In September, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol said it would detain bikes and parts made by Giant in Taiwan because of accusations that the company was using forced labor, according to Bicycle Retailer and Industry News.

Giant told the outlet that the company addressed reports of worker rights violations, including by paying recruitment costs for foreign employees and upgrading employee housing. The company has filed a petition to end the government blockade.

About half of Denver submarkets, including Boulder, saw negative absorption for office space in the third quarter, according to a report from CBRE. Although Boulder posted net negative absorption of more than 58K SF, rents remain stable at an average of $39.44 per SF.
